Gloria Jean Carter

Gloria Jean Carter, a resident of Ozark passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Flowers Hospital. She was 51.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with the Elder Edward Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at Sunset.

Mrs. Carter was born on March 20, 1957 in Citronelle, AL and spent the early part of her life in Marengo County, AL. She was a homemaker and has been in the Ozark area since 1997. She was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Dothan.

Survivors include her mother Myra Knight of Ozark; a daughter Maurita Carter of Ozark; brothers, Fondy Carter and his wife Geraldine of Newark, OH, Julius Butler and his wife Ora of Ozark; sisters, Jeanette Felder of Mobile, Donna Taylor of Ozark; a granddaughter, Tyshantii Cowan of Ozark; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
