Grace Mary (Mccormick) Maloy

Grace Mary Maloy, a beacon of strength, love, and passion, was called home on October 7, 2023, after a brief struggle with a recent illness. Born in Fremont, Michigan on December 27, 1958, Grace's radiant spirit and unwavering love for life made a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

Grace's life was a beautiful melody, filled with love, laughter, and music. At a young age, her talent for classical music became apparent, and she carried this passion throughout her life. At the tender age of 16, she embarked on a journey as a vocalist and guitarist, capturing hearts with her soulful voice. She also graced the stages of King's Inn and the Elks Lodge, and played in several other bands. However, her favorite musical experience was being a part of Shelter, a band that allowed her to express her love for music in its purest form.

Grace's love for life was not confined to music alone. She had a profound affection for horses and won several events in various horse shows. Her favorite horse, Phantom, was a testament to her skill and dedication. She was also passionate about animals, sharing her home with 13 cats and 7 dogs, each one a cherished member of her family.

Grace's caring nature extended to her loved ones as well. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Dwyane Maloy; her son, Peter (Mandy) Pauley; her daughters, Daphne (Steve) Hunt and Casie (Chris) Crumb; her eight grandchildren, Payton Pauley, Anna Pauley, Kimber Pauley, Owen Hunt, Hannah Maloy, Dustyn Maloy, Conner Crumb, and Carson Crumb; and her siblings, Jim McCormick, Dan McCormick, and Martha McCormick. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary McCormick; her step-son, Shain Maloy; her sister, Rosemary McCormick; and her brother, Charlie McCormick.

A celebration of Grace's life will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Grace will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2 pm.

Grace Mary Maloy was a woman of substance, a woman of strength, and a woman of love. Her legacy is not just in the music she created, but in the hearts of those she loved. Her life serves as a reminder to us all to live passionately, love selflessly, and laugh generously. She was, in every sense of the word, an inspiration. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly, reminding us all of the beauty and power of a life well-lived.
