Gwenda Jane Johnson

Gwenda Jane Johnson, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at a local hospital. She was 58.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 1 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Phillip R. Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-1 pm on the day of the funeral.

Mrs. Johnson was born on April 26, 1958 in Florida and moved to Houston County at an early age. She was employed with Bishop's and worked there for more than 28 years. She also worked in housekeeping at Super 8 and Adams Motel. Mrs. Johnson also liked to sew and make her children their Halloween costumes.

Survivors include two sons, James Smith and Kevin Smith; two daughters, Latrica Smith and Tamicha Smith; four grandchildren, Lakeya Smith, Lakela Smith, Kadarius Smith and Royalty Smith; her mother, Ozella Price Smith; two brothers, David Smith and Floyd Smith; a sister, June Smith; a special friend, Samuel Newsome; and several nieces and nephews.
