Halton Thomas Adams

Halton Thomas Adams, former resident of the Echo Community passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida at the home of his daughter, Patty. He was 88 years old.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service in the Sunset Reception Center. Burial took place at Deltona Memorial Gardens, Deltona, FL.

Mr. Adams was born in 1928 in the Blackwoods Community and was the son of the late Elbert and Meadie Adams. Mr. Adams left Blackwoods Community in 1948 to develop his trade in plumbing and electric. Mr. Adams returned to Dale County in 1996 after selling his Plumbing Supply business in Central Florida.

Mr. Adams is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Gladys and their son, Thomas Halton; brothers Rance, Clifton, Milton and Billy Jack Adams.

Surviving relatives include two daughters Terri (Buddy) Hopkins, Headland; daughter Patty Hawkins, Jax, FL; grandsons; Christopher (Nicole) Holloway Dothan; Kyle Hawkins Osteen, FL; and Mike (Marsha) Hopkins Orange City, FL; sisters Inez (Jerry) Hoar, Ozark; Marvell (Jack) Armstrong Headland; Shirley (Jim) Davis, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
