Harlon J. Conner, 69, of Midland City, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at his residence.

rnFuneral services will be held 3 pm Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church in Newton, AL with Rev. Orrin Barrett officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm prior to the service at the church. rnMr. Conner was born February 3, 1942, in Dale County, Alabama and lived here most of his life. He was an U.S. Army Honorably Discharged Veteran having served from 1965-68 stationed in Germany. He attended Memphis State University and was employed in the insurance business and later worked in the automotive related industry for over 30 years. Mr. Conner was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Newton. He was preceded in death by his wife Larue Conner, his father David W. Conner, and a brother Philmon Conner. rnSurvivors include his mother Mary Conner of Marianna, FL; a daughter Andrea Sykes Arthur of Southaven, MS; his brothers, Steven Conner Kathy of Hanceville, AL and Darell Conner of Midland City; his sisters, Carolyn Hickman Don of Midland City and Rebecca Hall Danny of Midland City; a granddaughter Kaitlin Sykes; several nieces and nephews also survive. rnThe family would like to extend a special thank you for the outstanding and compassionate service provided by Wiregrass Hospice. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
