Harold Logan Mahieu

February 21, 1940 — June 17, 2011

Harold Logan “Buster” Mahieu, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 following an extended illness. He was 71.

rnMemorial services will be held at 3 pm on Monday, June 20, 2011 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brett Hemphill officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the services. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, Alabama 36303. rnMr. Mahieu was born February 21, 1940 in Kalamazoo, Michigan and he lived the early years of his life in Commerce Lake Michigan. He traveled all over the world with his work as a field service representative with Garwood Industry of Wayne, Michigan. Mr. Mahieu was later employed with Heil Company as a liaison for over 15 years prior to his illness. He also resided in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he owned and operated Buster’s Smoke House for several years. Mr. Mahieu was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman and he also loved to play pool. He has resided in Dothan for the past eleven years. Mr. Mahieu was preceded in death by his mother, Verna Louise Mahieu; sister, Ruth Mahieu; and his wife, Cynthia “Sam” Mahieu. He was of the Baptist Faith. rnSurvivors include two daughters, Christina Anthony Goble, Dothan and Julianne Mahieu, Dothan; several nieces and nephews. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
