Harvey Lee Palmer, Jr., passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, at the age of 70 in Pinckard, Alabama.
Born on February 18, 1954, in Headland, Alabama, he attended Headland High School, where he cultivated a love for the simple pleasures in life. After graduating, Harvey embarked on a varied career that reflected his diverse interests and abilities. He began by selling cars at Ray Hughes Chevrolet in Enterprise, Alabama.
Harvey's industrious spirit led him to try his hand at farming for a period, connecting him to the land. Later, he joined the team at Tice's IGA, in Midland City. Harvey eventually found a long-term career with GE, where he worked diligently until his well-earned retirement.
Beyond his professional life, Harvey was a man of the outdoors. He had a passion for fishing and could often be found on the quiet waters of Alabama's lakes and rivers, basking in the serenity of his environment. Hunting, particularly dove hunting, was another of Harvey's treasured pursuits.
Harvey is survived by his two daughters, Kalyn Winn and her husband Kris, and Krystal Daniels and her husband Aaron; his four grandchildren; a cousin, Robyn Sestak, who was like a sister, and his close family friends, Kay and William Johnson.
A celebration of Harvey's life will be held at 3 pm on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Harvey will be laid to rest in Midland City Cemetery. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3 pm, welcoming all who wish to honor Harvey's memory.
