Hazel Lee Ash, 62, of Midland City Alabama died May 8, 2019 at Flowers Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jackson Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 15, from 5-7 pm. Ms. Ash was born to Ned Otis and Helen Ash on August 28, 1956 in Dothan, AL. She was a 1976 graduate of Dale County High School. After high school, Ms. Ash was a caretaker for the Gary family. She then worked various jobs around Dothan including working for Perdue Farms. In 2010 she began working for the Hilton Garden Inn as a cook where she was able to bring joy to everyone with her cooking and baking. Ms. Ash was a people person and enjoyed cooking for her family, friends, and her work family. She could bake anything, but she was known for her famous blueberry tart. She loved to go to the drag races to watch her brothers and go fishing with her family. Ms. Ash was a longtime member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her father, Ned Otis Ash, and her brother, Bobby Ray Ash. Survived by Her loving son, Adam Ash. Her mother, Helen Ash. Six brothers, Charles Otis Ash (Fannie Mae), Wallace Ash (Vivian), Ted Theodore Ash, Dennis Earl Ash, Arthur David Ash, and James Lewis Ash (Kimberly). Two sisters, Wanda Lee Ash and Sahronda Ash. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and work family. Burial Date May 16, 2019 Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jackson Glover officiating.
