Hazel Yvonne Clifton

Hazel Yvonne Clifton, 84, a resident of Dothan, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 6, 2016 following an extended illness.

Graveside services for Mrs. Clifton will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Rd., Montgomery, AL  36111.

Mrs. Clifton was born on March 12, 1932 in Koscuisko, Mississippi and lived there prior to moving to Dothan in 1994. She was a Federal employee working with the United States Postal Service in Ethel, Mississippi for over 20 years until her retirement in 1987. Mrs. Clifton was a wonderful mother and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dothan and deeply shared a loving relationship with her most precious Lord.

Her husband, Emmette Ross Clifton Jr., precedes Mrs. Clifton in death. Survivors include her son, Dr. Emmette Ross Clifton, Dothan, her two grandsons, Raynor Clifton and Brennan Clifton, Dothan; her sister, Nell Meador, San Antonio, TX; special cousin, Gail Smith, Jackson, MS, and several nieces and nephews including Jeannie Lowe, Harrison, AR, Martha Collins, Oxford, MS, Cindy Middleton, San Antonio, TX and Bobbi Jo Knepper, Lafayette, LA and Jeri Ewing, Atlanta, GA.
