Helen Lakyn Nowell

Helen Lakyn Nowell, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away at home on Saturday February 5, 2022. She was 8 years old.

A Celebration of Lakyn's life will be at 4 PM this Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at home following service.

Lakyn was born February 8, 2013 in Dothan, Alabama. Diagnosed at birth with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, she was small but mighty her whole life. She loved fiercely and purely. She enjoyed spending time playing with her family and her favorite toy, Beatbo, going to Headland Elementary School and learning with Mrs.Ally, and listening to music loudly with the wind in her hair.

Lakyn is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Deborah Carter Nowell and maternal great grandparents Lawrence and Helen Downes and James Sr. and Mervis Goodwin.

Lakyn is survived by her Mother, Crystal (Garrett) Goodwin and her Father, Deven (Amanda) Nowell; sisters Dylan Alice, Novalee Carter, Anzlee Jade, and a brother Gregory Chance; as well as step-siblings Ashlen, Nathaniel, and Ashton; maternal Grandparents James (Lee) Goodwin Jr., Joyce (Geoffrey) Goodwin; Paternal Grandparents Larry (Laura) Nowell; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is loved by many and missed by all.
