Henry Ford Ward, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at his residence. He was 98 years old.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 pm on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Saint Columba Catholic Church Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-7pm.
Henry was born on September 29, 1923 in Evergreen, AL to the late James Moses and Mary Etta Ward. Serving his country for over 25 years, He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Eight Air Force. Henry also served during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military he earned his bachelor's degree at Troy University. Henry was a hard working and kind hearted man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed playing Bingo with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Ward.
Survivors include his children, Martin (Marcella) Ward, Martha Ward Kaszycki, Mary (Daryl) Daniels, Mike (Belinda) Ward, Maurice (Janie) Ward, Mark (Melissa) Ward; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
