Howard E. Brookshire, Sr.

Howard Eugene Brookshire, Sr., 76, a resident of Newton died August 16, 2011.

rnFuneral services will be held 2 pm Friday, August 19, 2011 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. C. J. Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1pm until 2 pm Friday. rnMr. Brookshire was born March 29, 1935 in Knoxville, Tennessee and he resided the early years of his life in the Marbledale Community. Mr. Brookshire resided in Daleville, Alabama prior to moving to Newton in 2001. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served over twenty-one years until his retirement in 1972. He was later employed at Fort Rucker for twenty-two years as boiler technician until he retired in 2001. Mr. Brookshire was preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth Brookshire. rnSurvivors include his sons, Howard Eugene Brookshire, Jr., Atlanta, Bryan Scott Robbie Brookshire, Newton; his daughter, Terina Lorlene Brookshire, Dothan; grandson, Timothy Omar Dorothy Brookshire; a brother, Marshall Brookshire; special friends, Vince, Mechelle and Taylor Jaramillo and Michelle Lewis; several nieces and nephews. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
