Howard Lee Skinner, a resident of Rehobeth passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 77.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Bynum officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Ashford City Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church General Fund, 3250 S. Rocky Creek Rd., Ashford, AL.Mr. Skinner was born on October 20, 1932 in Webster County, MO and lived the early years of his life there. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War having served for over 20 years in the U.S. Army. Following his retirement he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 15 years in the Dothan area. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time spreading the word and taking care of his wife and children. Mr. Skinner was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife Ebeline “Tina” Skinner of Rehobeth; a son J.B. Skinner Jan of Rehobeth; daughters, Penny Wills Alfred of Dawson, GA, Connie White Steven of Dothan, Anita Kirkland Terry of Cottonwood; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces and a nephew; his church family and friends also survive.
