Hubert Ted Holder

Hubert “Ted” Theodore Holder, a resident of Dothan passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Flowers Hospital following a brief illness. He was 71.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church of Dothan with Rev. Allie Freeman officiating and Robert Byrd directing. Burial with Military Honors will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.Mr. Holder was born on December 28, 1938 in Deland, Florida and lived the early part of his life in Florida and New Jersey. He joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school and later joined the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served for 27 years until his retirement in 1979. Following his military service Mr. Holder relocated to Miami, FL and graduated from Florida International University with a degree in Finance and International Business. He was employed with UNC as a financial officer then transferred to Dothan in 1993. At the time of his death he worked with Sadler Welding Products as CFO. Mr. Holder was a lifetime member of the VFW, the American Legion Post 26 in Mayo, MD, the 40 & 8 division of the American Legion in Severna Park, MD, and the First United Methodist Church of Dothan.Survivors include his wife Linda Diaz Holder of Dothan; a daughter Maria Holder of Dothan; his sons, Richard Holder and his wife Helen of Homestead, FL and Brett Holder of Los Angeles, CA; 4 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Henry H. Holder, III and his wife Barbara of Severna Park, MD, Gordon Holder and his wife Pat of Falls Church, VA, and George Holder and his wife Debbie of St. Augustine Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews; his mother and father-in-law, Robert and Mary Diaz of Dothan also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
