Ivory C. Knox

February 28, 1939 — November 21, 2009

Ivory C. Knox, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Campbellton-Graceville Hospital. He was 70. A loved friend has departed from this earth for another land. “A city, which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Grider officiating. Burial will follow in County Line Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing.Brother Knox was born on February 28, 1939 in Slocomb, AL to the late Jim and Bertha Knox. As a young man he began working for the City of Slocomb and during this time he was united in holy matrimony to the late Mae Eva Knox. Brother Knox was also a devoted husband as well as a diligent hard worker for the Southeast Alabama Medical Center where he later retired.Brother Knox was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Bertha Knox, his beloved wife Mae Eva Knox, a daughter Dorothy Hatten, a sister Bobby McClendon, two brothers Nathaniel and Albert Knox, a brother-in-law Thomas Brown, and a sister-in-law Pam Knox. Survivors include his sister Betty Brown; his brother Jim Knox; his mother-in-law Mary Faison; a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, loving friends and family. The family would also like to give a special thanks to LaRosa Swain, his aide at Signature Health and Rehab of Graceville, May God Bless You and We Love You. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
