James L. Crawford

James L. Crawford, a resident of Pinckard died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. He was 75.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Sam White officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the services.Mr. Crawford was born on January 24, 1934 in Houston County and resided in Kinsey most of his life. He attended Houston County High School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served for four years. He was employed with GFA Transportation Co. for over 22 years as a driver and was later employed with American Freight until his retirement in 1998. Mr. Crawford has resided in Pinckard for the past year.Survivors include his sons, Mike Crawford and his wife Kaye of Headland, Eddie Crawford and his wife Amy of Midland City; a daughter Sharon Sewell and her husband Greg of Pinckard; grandchildren, James Richards, Kristen Teal, Rebekah Sewell, Brantley Crawford, Chaz Crawford, Eve Crawford, Paige Crawford; great-grandchildren, Halle Teal, Ethan Teal; a sister Sarah Johnson of Dothan; a nephew Steve Johnson. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
