James William Flucker

James William Flucker, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his home. He was 80.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 2 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold McKissic, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 pm prior to the service.

James Flucker was born on November 25, 1936 in Henry County, Alabama and spent much of his young life there. In 1960, he married Dorene Flucker and moved to Dothan. He was employed with Alabama Power as a lineman for over 25 years until his retirement in 2000. Mr. Flucker was a longtime member of Patterson Street Church. He especially enjoyed socializing and making handcrafts.

Survivors include his children, Dalton Dexter Flucker, Ella Flucker, Charlotte Flucker and Jennifer (Darryl) Antoine; grandchildren, Latakia (Raashad) McKinzie and Thaddeus James Underwood; great-grandchildren, Raashad McKinzie, Jr., Kenneth Tyler McKinzie, Sienna McKinzie and Teagan Underwood; his brothers, Robert (Liz) Flucker, Frank (Joyce) Flucker, J.T. (Marydell) Flucker, Johnny (Candice) Flucker, Calvin Flucker, Joe Lewis Flucker and Kenneth Flucker; his sisters, Catherine (Robert) Williams, Ida McKay and Tommie (James) Salter; and many other family members and friends whom he loved.
