James "Chris" Fredeman, resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 at his residence. He was 75. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 1 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Save A Pet in Dothan or Subiaco Abbey Academy, 405 North Subiaco Avenue, Subiaco, AR 72865. Chris was born on December 27, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a high school graduate of Subiaco Abbey Academy. Chris joined the Air Force at the age of 17 where he served his country for 6 years. He attended and enrolled in the University of Arkansas. After graduation, he got a job in Savannah, GA as an Advertising Director and continued education at Armstrong State. Chris got a degree in Art Education and developed the art curriculum for Savannah School System; at the same time, he worked as a stage hand at the Savannah Civic Center. He served as the assistant director then director before moving to Penn State University where he was the assistant director of Bryce Jordan Center on Penn State's campus. Chris moved to Dothan in 1999 where he worked as director of the Civic Center and Opera House. He was an artist and enjoyed anything to do with Art and designed theatrical sets. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rosalind Fredeman; a daughter, Molly J. Fredeman; and a son, Kurt Matthew Fredeman. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Fredeman; daughter, Kirsten Fredeman; grandchildren, Noah, Gabi, Sara and Molly; sister, Toni Pantier; and several nieces and nephews.
