James Johnson

James Johnson, a resident of Abbeville passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Henry County Nursing and Rehab. He was 75.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Adams officiating. Burial with will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.Mr. Johnson was born on July 19, 1935 in Largo, FL and lived the early years of his life there. He served in the U. S. Marines for 4 years. He was employed with the Water Department in Clearwater, FL for over 25 years prior to moving to Abbeville in 1993 where he was employed with Teledyne until his retirement in 2005.Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his grandson Collin Hadley and a sister Lila Mae Johnson.Survivors include his wife Grace Johnson of Abbeville; a daughter Lynn Kirkland and her husband Ray of Damascus, GA; 4 grandchildren, Katherine Kirkland, Amber Kirkland, Ashlynn Kirkland, R. J. Kirkland; brothers and sisters, Earl Johnson, Norman Johnson, Tony Johnson, Darlene Wolfe, Winifred Harper all of Florida; a very special friend Ellen Wright of Abbeville. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
