James Ronnie Mercer

James Ronnie Mercer, a resident of Ashford passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at a family home. He was 61 years old. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. Mr. Mercer was born November 17, 1957 in Houston County and lived in Ashford all his life. He was a 1976 graduate of Ashford High School and completed a Respiratory Therapist degree at Wallace College in 1978. He was employed with Southeast Alabama Medical Center for 38 years prior to his retirement in 2016. Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Love Mercer and brother, Gregory Mercer. Survivors include his father, Charles Mercer; sister, Terry Snellgrove; special friends, Deborah Hughes, Jeff Love, Rozanne Owens, Alex Cameron, and Patricia Poole; fur babies, Biscuit and Max.
