Ret. MSG James Allen Moon, 65, a resident of Dothan passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Henderson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2 pm Saturday.
Mr. Moon was born April 1, 1948 in Alabama. He joined the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Moon retired with 22 years of service while stationed at Ft. McClellan in Anniston, Alabama. He was later employed with the Wiregrass United Way Food Bank and the ABC stores with the State of Alabama until his second retirement. He was an avid golfer and loved fishing with his family. Mr. Moon was a member of New Prospect Free Will Baptist.
Mr. Moon was preceded in death by a son, Randy Moon.
Survivors include, his wife, Wol Ye Moon, Dothan; a son, Chong Uk Suk and his wife Kylonglan, of New Jersey; three daughters, Chong Hui Shen and her husband, James, of California, Oki Katzenberger and her husband, Thomas, of Maryland, Tracy Garcia and her husband, Gregory, of Virginia; six grandchildren, Anna, Henry, Tommy, Rachel, Zachary and Jae; three brothers, Arthur Moon, of Florida, Wayne Moon, of Arkansas and Ken Crisel, of Alabama; two sisters, Bennie Finn and Kathy Sikora, both of Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
