James Darren Morrison, a resident of Dothan passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Noland Hospital in Southeast Alabama Medical Center after an extended illness. He was 46.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Elder James Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.Mr. Morrison was born July 20, 1962 to Clara Morrison Glanton and the late Roosevelt Kelly in Abbeville Henry County Alabama. He was employed in construction for several years and resided in Headland prior to moving to Dothan in 2007. Even though he had been blind for several years, he became very independent and enjoyed cooking for his grandchildren, listening to sports and music.He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife Jackie Morrison of Dothan; his mother Clara Glanton of Dothan; a daughter Jasmine Reeves of Dothan; two grandchildren, Jaylen Reeves and Kynedi Davis both of Dothan; a mother-in-law Jeleane Thornton of Headland; two sisters, Rosie Sanderson and her husband Lawrence of Birmingham, AL, Tricia Kelly of Atlanta, GA; three devoted aunts, Willie Mae Morrison, Mary Tharpe and her husband Raymond, Ella Morrison of Henry County; two uncles, Tommy Morrison and his wife Bessie of Abbeville, AL, Ezekiel Morrison and his wife Annie of Mobile, AL; four brothers-in-law, Jerome Reeves and his wife Adell of Charlotte, NC, Willie Condry of Kissimmee, FL, Earl Condry of Kissimmee, FL, C.W. Condry of Akron, OH; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and a special cousin and friend Janice Danzey. Burial Date: January 1, 1970Visits: 4
