James Milton Respress, 68, of Dothan, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

rnFuneral services will be held 1 pm Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Dillard officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm Friday. rnMr. Respress was born October 18, 1942 in Columbia, Alabama and he resided the early years of his life and graduated from high school there. He had been employed with Farley Nuclear Plant for several years and later with the Southeast Alabama Medical Center as a Physical Therapist Assistant until his recent illness. Mr. Respress also worked with the Dothan Eagle and he was an avid gardener and agricultural farmer. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, the Gospel and Inspirational Choir and the nurse’s guild. rnSurvivors include his wife, Lillie Respress, Dothan; 2 sons, Keith Respress and Dewayne Campbell both of Dothan; a step-son, Paul Curry, Dothan; a daughter, Wanda Melton, Dothan; 4 grandchildren, Jalen Respress, Monica Curry, Paulette Curry and Maya Curry; great-grandchildren, A. J. Curry and Brittney Curry; his mother, Essie Mae Respress; four brothers, Clarence Respress Edna, Hunter F. Respress Gladys, Solomon Respress Inella and Alfred Respress; two sisters, Dorothy Whitehurst and Hilmon Respress; two special sisters-in-law, Juanita Bryant and Nettie Crittenden; two special friends, Mr. Dale and Floyd Covington; a host of nieces and nephews. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
