James Carl Skipper

July 22, 1952 — June 1, 2021

God created a masterpiece on July 22,1952 and presented him to the late J.P. & Rosie Skipper. That masterpiece was affectionally called "J.C." by his family and friends. The Lord decided that he needed him in "Heaven" alongside his late son Christopher Damone Grimsley, brothers Albert Skipper, Charles "Big C" Skipper, Mike Skipper, and sister Ann Skipper. On Tuesday June 1, 2021, he took his final stroke of "His" masterpiece finally making it complete for "Our Lord Jesus Christ". He loved the Lord with all of his heart.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.

James Carl Skipper was born in Abbeville, AL. He attended Grimsley High School in Ashford, AL and from there he attended Job Corps located in North Carolina. He would go on to become a skillful worker in the burial business for over 30 years. Nothing could stop this man! He had so many side hustles to other side hustles that created other hustles all in the name of not slowing down. He would often say "I ain't tired yet" J.C. was always on "GO" when it came to working after retirement.

J.C. was such a gentle spirit. He never angered; I mean never angered unless you were cheating in cards. Seriously, this man was one of the most selfless human beings that has ever walked this earth. He was married for over 38yrs to Cassandra Skipper his soulmate. In this union no children were created. However, the bond he has built over 38yrs with the children brought into this union is unshakable and truly unremovable. He stepped up to the plate as "Pops, Daddy, Father, and Friend". He had his own relationship with Damone, Jerome (G-Rome), Frank, Selissa and Sharon giving them all "Golden Nuggets" in life to live by. He instilled hard work in all of his children and loved them dearly, as well as his grandkids.

J.C. is survived by a devoted wife, Cassandra Skipper; his two daughters, Sharon Craig (Jay), West Palm Beach, FL and Selissa Corbitt (Chris), Griffin, GA; two sons, Franklin McIntyre, Los Angeles, CA and Wallace Grimsley, Orlando, FL; three brothers, Thomas Skipper, Mark Skipper both of Dothan Alabama, and Reuben Skipper, Los Angeles, CA; three sisters, Betty Ward (Willie) Jonesboro, GA, Sarah Skipper and Carolyn Skipper both of Dothan, AL, Ethel Salters (Nate), Newville, AL, and Daisy Lambett, Seattle Washington. He leaves behind 18 grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, card partners, old friends, new friends, work friends, store run friends, and two very special friends/brothers: Wesley Rabb & Earnest Myhand.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.
