James Earl Worrell, a resident of Dothan passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his residence after an extended illness. He was 58.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brenda Yon officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 26 at the funeral home.Mr. Worrell was born on November 6, 1950 in Houston County and spent the early years of his life in Columbia. He was employed with Smith Custom Ironworks for over 25 years until his medical retirement. He enjoyed rebuilding and remodeling cars as well as gardening. Mr. Worrell was a member of the Rocky Branch Congregation. Survivors include his wife Sandra Worrell of Dothan; a son Jamie Worrell and his wife Kim of Slocomb; grandchildren, Nathan Worrell, Jessie Worrell, Brooke Worrell; a great-grandchild Jacob Ward; brothers, Jimmy Smith, Frank Smith, Morris Worrell, Don Worrell; sisters, Martha Owens, Cathalene Moon.
