Janet Lynn Solomon

On April 18th, 1963 Shaaron Austin Solomon and CJ Solomon Jr of Faith, NC welcomed their first child, a daughter, Janet Lynn Solomon. On Monday, May 29th 2023, she exited this earthly plane, peacefully in her sleep.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Goforth Jr., eldest grandchild, Cody Holt, and younger sister, Lisa Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Suzi (Addison) Owens of Myrtle Beach, SC; her son, Jerry (Mandy) Pratt Jr., of Winston Salem, NC; her baby sister, Gina Culp; her Grandchildren, Cheyenne and Harley Gardner, Chance Jones, Dalton, Ethan, Haven, and Becca Pratt; four great grandchildren and two on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was a highly respected and beloved Wiccan Priestess, officially ordained in 1986, Janet spent much of her youth studying this vast verse, and our significance in it. She served in the US Army, and was a brilliant artist and a master Gunsmith by trade.

What can I say about Janet Lynn? Words that come to mind are Majikal, Misfit, melomaniac, mischievous, my Momma. I'd call her a nutcase and be done with it, but that doesn't really answer the question. She was one of a kind that's for sure. A true wild child. Untamable, unstoppable, an unapologetic beauty, a force to be reckoned with. It wasn't where she was in life that made her who she was. It was all the late nights, wrong turns, and bad decisions along the way, that made her the woman we will never forget.
