Janice Chambers

May 11, 1973 — April 24, 2025

Janice Faye Chambers, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, in Birmingham, AL, at the age of 51. Born on May 11, 1973, in Ashford, AL, Janice's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and her boundless capacity to care for others.

Janice's journey began as the beloved daughter of Willie Jay and Willie Faye Stewart, who preceded her in death, along with her grandson Jeremiah Henderson and brothers Robert Stewart and Willie Stewart, Jr. Her formative years in Ashford were shared with her brothers Frank, David, James Stewart, who, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, continue to honor her memory.

A proud graduate of Columbia High School, Janice's nurturing spirit led her to become a caregiver, a role she embraced with dedication for over three years. Her true vocation, however, was that of a homemaker, a role she performed with unparalleled grace and devotion. Janice's life was a testament to her belief in giving to everyone, a philosophy she lived out daily through her actions and interactions.

Janice's heart was ever-expanding, as she was a loving wife to her husband, Byron Chambers, and a guiding light to her children, Marquise Melton, Cieria Tyson (LeTras), and Courtney Felix (Daniel). Her legacy flourishes through her grandchildren, Courtlyn Davis, Jaycein Tyson, Cieanna Tyson, Jenesis Felix, Daniel Felix, Jr., Hayden Melton, Logan Melton, Marquise Melton, Jr., and India Melton, who will carry forward the love she so freely gave.

A woman of God and a fighter in the truest sense, Janice moved to Birmingham three years ago, where she continued to touch lives with her kindness. Her friends and family knew her as a loving friend, mother, and wife, whose actions were always guided by her faith-filled heart.

Janice's life was marked by her loving and selfless nature. She had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel cherished and supported. Her unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and inspiring those around her to live with hope and compassion.

As we bid farewell to Janice Chambers, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a spirit that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished and her legacy of love and selflessness will endure, a guiding light for generations to come.
