Jasper Elzie J.E. Bodiford

Jasper Elzie J.E. Bodiford, of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Flowers Hospital. He was 73.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2009 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Orrin Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time and at other times will be at the home of Sidney and Beth Napier, 4110 County Road 203, Rehobeth, AL.Mr. Bodiford was born on January 12, 1936 in Donalsonville, GA and moved to Houston County at an early age. He was employed with Liberty National Insurance Company for 25 years and later was in sales for heavy equipment and trucks. Mr. Bodiford loved boating, was an avid fisherman, and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.Mr. Bodiford was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Bodiford, a sister Mettie Love and an infant son Robert Bodiford.Survivors include his wife Lyndia W. Bodiford of Dothan, AL; his two sons, Jeff Bodiford and his wife Cindy of Rehobeth, AL, Scott Bodiford and his wife Terri of Rehobeth, AL; his daughter, Beth Napier and her husband Sidney of Rehobeth, AL; his grandchildren, Shanon Crowder, Shawn Napier, Amber Spears, Josh Mathis, Maribeth Bodiford, Christalle Bodiford, Christopher Bodiford II, Josh Bodiford, Taylor Bodiford; his four great-grandchildren, Collin Crowder, Gracie Napier, Trey Spears, Cadence Mathis; his sister, Mary Robertson of Dothan, AL; several nieces and nephews; the mother of his children, Shirley W. Sanders of Dothan, AL.Serving as active pallbearers will be Shawn Napier, Ben Spears, Ritchie Crowder, Josh Bodiford, Mike Love, and Don Love. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
