Jaylee James

Jaylee James, age 8 passed away Thursday September 8, 2016 at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Wednesday September 14, 2016 at Watermark Church with Pastor Todd Thorpe officiating. Burial will follow in Webb City Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at Watermark Church.

Jaylee was born December 5, 2007 in Dothan and resided there before moving to Ashford last year. She was in the 3rd grade at Ashford Elementary School and a member of Watermark Church.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather Rob Neal; great-great grandmother Thelma Bunch, great-great aunt Merle Ward, great-great uncle L J Ward, great grandmother Nolie Downer; aunt Martie Brown and cousin D.J. Brown.

Survivors include her parents, Bridgette Neal and Jason James; two brothers, Cliffton James and Levi Prokopchuk; grandparents, Shawna Neal, Gail James, Dana Childs; great-grandparents, Charles and Sallie Downer, and Jewel Phillips; aunts and uncles, Joseph and Bridgette Neal, Robert Neal, Kelly Rister, and Gloria James; several cousins, great aunts and uncles.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Cliffton James, Richard Lisenby, Benjamin Benton, Joseph Neal, Gabe Hartfield and Steve Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be the 3rd grade class of Scotty Matthews, Ashford Elementary students.
