J C Bivens

JC Bivens, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023. He was 74 years old.

A celebration of JC's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 am.

JC was born on June 29, 1948 in Houston County and lived the early years of his life in Webb. He married Priscilla Wymes and together they moved to Columbia where they have resided for 35 years. JC was employed with Qualico Steel Company and C and K Trucking Company for several years prior to his retirement in 2018. When JC was younger, he enjoyed drag racing and race cars. JC was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

JC leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 53 years, Priscilla Wymes Bivens; his four sons, Robert (Rochanda) Wymes, Johnny Bivens (Carrie), Tyrone (Shamekia) Bivens, and Bobby (Alexis) Bivens; his daughter, Lawanda (Gerald) Stanley; his eight grandchildren; his four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
