Jean S. Aman

January 4, 1937 — November 27, 2015

Jean S. Aman, 78, a resident of Avon, died on Friday morning, November 27, 2015 at Wesley Manor following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Bluff Springs Baptist Church with Brother Homer Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 1512 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL, 36301.

Mrs. Aman was born January 4, 1937 in Ashford, AL to Edgar and Bennie Mae Brownlee Smith. She attended Cottonwood High School. She worked her early career at Warner's and later retired with the Houston County Board of Education as a teacher's aide at Ashford High School.

Mrs. Aman was preceded in death earlier this year by her husband of 61 years, Raymond Aman; her parents; her brother Lorell Smith of Dothan; and her sister Lonell Smith Zostec of Panama City, FL.

Survivors include her son, Phillip R. Aman Wanda of Ashford; grandchildren, Amanda Aman Searcy Chad and Chris Aman; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Landon, Hudson Searcy and Harper Aman; step-granddaughters, Amy Balkcom Kris and Lori Beasley Ashley; step-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Folger, Sela Balkcom, and Tanner Folger; two sisters-in-law, Linda Aman and Ann Smith; many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Stanley Aman, James Aman, Randy Aman, Scott Aman, Stephen Kelley, and Terry Mack Kelley.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Wesley Manor and Covenant Hospice for their caring love and support.
