Jean Barrett Waller

August 27, 1920 — May 9, 2016

Jean Barrett Waller was born August 27, 1920 in Oxford, Mississippi.  She died at the age of 95 years, 8 months, and 12 days at Wesley Manor Methodist Home, Dothan, Alabama, on Monday, May 9, 2016.

The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Lynn Nesbitt of Dothan First United Methodist Church, where Jean was a member.  It will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 3:00 pm.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 2:00 pm.  Burial will be the following day in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, Alabama.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph Waller, her daughter, Rhonda Jean Waller, and her son-in-law Stan McKibbon. She was also preceded in death by her longtime caregiver, Ruby Thomas.

Jean is survived by her three daughters and two sons-in-law; Sherlyn McKibbon of Pensacola, Florida, Sandra De Leo and her husband William Bill of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Renece Wise, and her husband Steven of Dothan, Alabama.  She is survived by five grandchildren, Shari Kevin Oakes, Lynn Haven, Florida, Brent De Leo Griselda, Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, Jereme De Leo Lindsey, Austin, Texas, William Atticus Wise, and Laura Wise, both of Dothan.  She is survived by eleven great-grandchildren; Nathan, Peter, Matthew, and David Oakes of Lynn Haven, Florida, Alexandra, Samantha, and Nicholas De Leo of Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, and Charity, Judah, Reese, and Cohen De Leo of Austin, Texas.
