Jeff Woods

Jeff Ernest Woods, Sr. a resident of Ashford passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at his residence after an extended illness. He was 77.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 29 at the funeral home.rnMr. Woods was born on October 27, 1931 in Panama City, FL and lived there the early years of his life. He was employed in the Industrial Construction Industry for over 40 years prior to his retirement in 1989. He resided in Alford, FL prior to moving to Ashford in 1996. He was a member of the Labor Local Union 277. rnMr. Woods was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Hezze Woods and Lonzo Woods.rnSurvivors include his wife of 46 years Mary Clark Woods; a son Jeff Ernest Woods, Jr. and his wife Malisa of Marianna, FL; daughters, Molly Abbott and her husband Jimmy of Marianna, FL, Hellen Woods and her husband Jerry of Ashford, Anna Arrington and her husband Tony of Marianna, FA; 14 grandchildren, Bobby Wilkes, Brandy Thaxton, James Abbott, Charles Abbott, Daniel Wilkes, Elizabeth Brady, Joseph Abbott, Christopher Young, Christopher Woods, Tessa Woods, Andrew Abbott, Megan Locklar, Jeff Woods, Emma Woods; great-grandchildren, Taylor Thaxton, Chloe Thaxton; sisters, Helen King of Panama City, FL, Joyce Grant of Panama City, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
