Jemmie Ray Watford, Sr., 64, of Dothan passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at his residence.
rnFuneral services will be held 11 am Friday, December 30, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home with Bishop James Newby officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home. rnrnMr. Watford was born August 18, 1947 to the late Vassie Lee Mathis in Newark, NJ and resided the early part of his life in New York and Dothan. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Watford was employed with the Dothan Police Department and Bell Supply and was an active Mason. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon Clark and a sister Gloria Ann Merrith. rnSurvivors include his wife Teresa A. Watford of Dothan; sons, Jemmie Roshonda Ray Watford, Jr. of Dothan, and Kenai Watford of Dothan; daughters, Teresa Patrick Jenkins of Ozark, Malaysia Watford of Dothan, and Yasmine Coleman of Eufaula; grandchildren, Milton Brenda Watford, Maurice Shocarra Watford, Justice Beverly, Wisdom Watford, and Travarius Buggs; one great-grandson, Josiah Nelson; a host of nieces and nephews including a special nephew Michael Vevelyn Lee; special friends, Willie Earl Helms, Jessie Salter, Raymond Roberts, and Sonny Glascow.
