Jerry Ross Atwell

Jerry Ross Atwell, 62 passed away Saturday December 7, 2013 at his residence in Daphne, Alabama.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday December 13, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Boyd Hartzog officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service.

Jerry was born October 12, 1951 in Dothan, Alabama and graduated from Dothan High School.  He served in the Alabama National Guard for many years in Mobile, Alabama. He retired from the Department of Alabama State Troopers where he served from September 2, 1970 until September 1, 2000 and in his last years as a Driver’s License Hearing Officer. He was a member of the Conde Cavaliers Mardi Gras Society in Mobile, Alabama.

He is preceded in death by his parents J. Hilton and Evelyn Fenn Atwell.
Survivors include a son Jason Atwell; a grandson Axton Atwell; his brother Don Atwell and wife Annice; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
