Jerry Caputo, 73, a resident of The Villages, FL passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Following the visitation, friends and family will be asked to share a memory or story of Jerry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, ID #10620710, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 in memory of Jerry Caputo. The family has reserved rooms for out of town guests at the Comfort Suites, 1650 Westgate Pkwy, Dothan, AL 334 792-9000.

Jerry was born June 13, 1943 in Chicago, IL and resided there the early part of his life. In the early 1980’s he began working for Carpetland U.S.A. Advancements within Carpetland U.S.A. took him and his family to Schererville, IN in 1986, Champaign, IL in 1989, Portage, MI in 1990 and finally opened his own franchise in Dothan, AL in 1993 where he retired in 2011. He moved to The Villages, Florida in 2012. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid boater and taught many family members and friends how to water ski. When he moved to Florida he restored his love of ping pong through the The Villages Table Tennis Club and established many wonderful friendships. Jerry was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. Go Cubs Go!!

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marge Caputo; his son, Bob Julie Caputo; his daughter, Nickie Jason Blissett; grandchildren, Conrad, Caitlyn, and Casey Caputo, Sophia and Cooper Blissett; brother, Louis Donna Caputo; sister, Carmie Chuck Smith; several nieces and nephews.
