James Thomas “Jim” Joyce, Jr., 46, a resident of Dothan passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:30pm Monday February 29, 2016 at First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Allie Freeman officiating. Graveside services will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church 1:00pm until 2:30pm Monday. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to The Boys and Girls Club, 457 South Alice St, Dothan, AL 36301.

Jim was born November 25, 1969 in Columbus, Georgia and he moved to Dothan in 1975. He attended Northview High School and Addison Trail High School and he was a 1993 graduate of The University Alabama. Jim was very athletic and was an outstanding basketball and baseball player in High School and went on to pitch at The University of Alabama. He was also a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at The University of Alabama and First United Methodist Church of Dothan.

Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Joyce, Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Morris; his aunt, Glenda Morris; his first cousin and friend, Landy Morris; his cousin, Helen Carla Nix; his uncle, James Carlton Nix, Jr.; his uncle Robert E. Joyce.

Survivors include his daughter, Anna Kate Joyce; his mother, Mary Morris Juergens; his fiancé, Sharon Hamilton; his father and step-mother James Thomas Joyce, Sr. and Barbara Joyce; his brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Nancy Joyce; his half-brothers, Alex Joyce and Zack Joyce and his wife, Aimee Joyce; his niece, Claudia Prevost Joyce and his nephew, James Walter Joyce; his aunts and uncles, Walter Jack Morris, Larry and Joann Morris, Martha Nix, Mary Konrad; his cousins, Leone Beauclaire, Jesse Buechers, Mimi Harmon and Adam, Robert and Johann Konrad.
