Jimmie Dale Boin, Sr.

Jimmie Dale Boin, Sr., a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his residence. He was 78.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Free officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12-1 pm. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL 36303.

Mr. Boin was born on December 17, 1938 in Illinois and lived there the early years of his life. He served in the US Army and then worked for 40 years as a telephone contractor. Mr. Boin loved singing karaoke, watching Cubs baseball, and pulling for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a loving husband, father, and friend to many.

Mr. Boin was preceded in death by his sons, Michael Shane Boin and Lee Joseph Boin.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Boin; his sons, Perry (Dawn) Boin and Jimmie (Pam) Boin; his grandchildren, Ashley Boin, Alex Boin, Christian Mullins, Shane Boin, and Emily Boin; and his great-grandchild, Jace Boin.

The family wishes to express their thanks to his sister-in-law, Evelyn Fowler, for her frequent visits and care and to Kindred Hospice for their compassion.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Alex Boin, Christian Mullins, Shane Boin, James Gilley, Marty Cooper, and Todd Baxley.
