Jimmy Jones

James Richard “Jimmy” Jones, Jr., a resident of Dothan passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 61.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday July 1, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.

Mr. Jones was born September 1, 1947 in Spencer, Iowa and was a 1966 graduate of Auburn High School. He received his drafting degree from Wallace Community College in 1982. Mr. Jones was employed with Burns Machinery for several years and at the time of his illness he was employed with Nypro of Dothan.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his mother Marion Emma Woods Jones.

Survivors include, his father, James Richard “Jim” Jones, Sr., and his wife, Julitta, Headland; two brothers, David Jones and his wife, Ruth, Headland and Gary Jones and his wife, Jamie, Birmingham; five nieces and nephews, Leslie Tanton and her husband, Tommy, Ben Jones, Robert Casey and his wife, Kristi, Patrick Casey, Jeremy, a great niece, Aidyn Casey.
