Jimmy Paul Ready

Jimmy Paul Ready, resident of Wicksburg, passed away on June 26, 2019 at Flowers Hospital. He was 66. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Sunset Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be at Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home starting at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Ready was born in Panama City Florida on July 9, 1952 to the late James and Myra Ready. Jimmy grew up in Headland, Alabama with his family. Later, he started his career as a Truck Driver where he got to travel all over the United States. He was known for being a hard worker and provider for his family. When he wasn't having to work, Jimmy enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, playing the drums, cheering on the Crimson Tide, and dancing the night away with his family and friends. Most of all, He loved to spend time with his family and being a "Poppy" to his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Laura Ready; one son, Ryan Ready (Olivia); two daughters, Kendall Lynn Ready and Amanda Johnson (Jeremy); three grandchildren, Parker James Ready, Walter Reed Ready, and soon-to-be, Elizabeth Grace Ready; two sisters, Myra Mathis (Larry) and Shirley Smith (Joe); one brother, Phillip Ready (Ronna); and numerous nieces and nephews.
