John Carr

John Carr, 66 a resident of Ariton passed away Saturday June 13, 2015 at a local hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm Monday, June 15, 2015 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Monday.

Mr. Carr was born on November 13, 1948 and he moved to Troy at an early age. He resided in Ariton for the past 35 years and was employed with the Dale County Road and Bridge Department until his retirement in 2010. Mr. Carr was an avid fisherman and he loved to hunt and enjoyed 4-wheeling on his ATV. Mr. Carr was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 35 years, Kathy Johnson Carr; his son, Jessie F. Carr; his daughter, Jessica A. Carr; his five grandchildren, Haley Marie Carr, Dana Marie Carr, Kaylie Ann Carr, Abigail Michelle Carr, and Ashley Nicole Kyser; his sister-in-law, Mavis Johnson; and one brother, Tom Carr.
