John Lee Chambers

John Lee Chambers a resident of Dothan died Saturday March 6, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 80.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor C. Lewis officiating. Graveside services will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Friday.Mr. Chambers was born on December 23, 1929 in Houston County, AL and lived his entire life in the Dothan area. He was involved in farming early in life and also spent several years in the home construction business. Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Ella M. Chambers on Feb. 2, 2010, a sister Gladys Wheeler, a brother Willie B. Chambers, and a son T. C. Chambers.Survivors include his two sons, Johnny Chambers, Jr. and his wife, Irene, and Willie Henry and his wife Cynthia Chambers both of Dothan; four daughters, Yvonnie Chambers, Dorothy J. Chambers, Linda A. Chambers and Almekia Blackmon all of Dothan; a daughter-in-law Diane Chambers of Dothan; a sister Mary Cotton of Vero Beach, FL; a brother Henry Chambers of Malone, FL; a brother-in-law James Albert Bradsberry of Dade City, FL; a special friend Larry Melvin of Dothan; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Surviving as active pallbearers will be Gary Chambers, Christopher Chambers, Odell Chambers, Lenarous Chambers, Rodell Chambers and Daniel Jackson. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
