John Wesley Douglas

August 7, 1942 — June 16, 2015

John Wesley Douglas, 72 , of Pansey, Alabama, was called to his heavenly home on June 16th, 2015.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Coley Holloway and Rev. Judy Dyson officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

John was born, August 7, 1942 raised and resided in the Pansey community most of his life. John retired in 2007, from Ansley’s Building Supply as a Contractor Salesman, he spent most of his leisure time enjoying his favorite pastime, which was fishing. He was also an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Football Fan. He also enjoyed teaching his grandkids to drive, hunt, fish, ride bikes. We never knew of anyone with the patience and gentleness that our Daddy and PawPaw had, always.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Kate Douglas; a son, Earl Douglas; brothers, C.H., Durell, Russell and Willie Douglas; sisters, Betty Baker, Lucille Hatcher, and Robbie Marshall.

Survivors are his loving wife, of 51 years, Lillie Douglas; one son, Wesley Douglas Bonnie; two daughters, Laura Douglas Perkins and Stacey Gibson Johnny; sisters, Blondell Conrad, Jean Parker, and Dinnah Lingo Rex; one brother, Randall Douglas Luverne; four grandchildren, Jonathon Holland Tara, Blake Perkins, Chelsea Lien Luke, and Kaitlynn Gibson; three great-grandchildren, Kinley and Hudson Lien, and Mason Holland; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Timothy Douglas, Jimmy Douglas, Doug Parker, Chris Lingo, Rex Lingo, and Jason Baker.
