John L Durr, Jr.

John Lucious Durr, Jr., a resident of Seattle, WA and formerly of Dothan, AL, passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Northwest Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle following a heroic battle with cancer. He was 32 years old. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home with Min. Bobby Durr, Min. Felton Blackmon, and Willie Durr officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. John was born to John L, Sr. and Shirley Durr on March 1, 1986 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. He was raised in Dothan and attended Dothan City Schools, graduating from Northview High School with honors in 2004. He furthered his studies at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in English. John leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted parents, John and Shirley Durr; a beloved sister, Denice N. Durr; his nephew, Eian M. Durr Johnson; grandfather, Ralph Blackmon, Sr.; grandmother, Callie R. Durr; a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished close friends, all of whom were special to him.
