John Forrest

John "Jimmy" Forrest, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019. He was 79. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-2 pm. Mr. Forrest was born on February 2, 1940 in Houston County and lived in Dothan all his life. He worked on his farm for several years before working for the City of Dothan for 15 years until his retirement. Mr. Forrest loved to talk with people all over the world on his Ham Radio. He enjoyed working with his hands and on old cars. He loved to tinker with electronics and with welding. Survivors include his many friends around the world that he loved to talk to on his Ham Radio and his local friends in the in the Dothan area.
