John Millard Harvey

MSgt John Millard Harvey (USAF Ret.), a resident of Midland City passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at his residence with the love of his life by his side. He was 69 years old. Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Johnson officiating and Robert Byrd directing. Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:30-5:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America Assoc. Mr. Harvey was born March 24, 1949 in Anderson, IN and was raised in Tampa, FL and spent his summers in Elk Rapids, MI. He was a 1968 graduate of Plant High School and joined the U.S. Air Force serving for over 20 years. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and was truly a devoted patriot and loved serving and defending his country. John was a devoted member of Haven of Grace Church and was a man of very strong convictions. Later in life he found joy in singing to his wife and fellowship with his church family. He had a laugh that could fill a room and was a dear friend to many. His heart was as big as his stature. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Vickie Harvey; son, Gregory (Lena) Harvey; daughter, Tanya Harvey (Juan) Roman; grandchildren, Wayne Harris, Kayla Bolden, Juan "Nolito" Roman, Ianna Rosa, Grant Jones-Roman, and Jack Roman; a great-grandson, Aiden Harris; nieces, Sabrina Lackey and Michelle Lackey Collins.
