John Spence Keppy

John Spence Keppy, 58, of Dothan passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at his residence.

rnMemorial services will be held 6:30 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA, 22312. rnJohn was born August 1, 1952 in New York, NY and resided there the early years of his life. At the age of 13 he enrolled at the Georgia Military Academy in Milledgeville, GA and rose to the rank of Cadet Captain. He later resided in Tallahassee, FL and attended college there prior to moving to Dothan in the early 1980’s while working as a district manager with Hardee’s. John served as a Houston County Sheriff’s Deputy Reservist and owned and operated K-Arms gun shop. He later worked with WWNT as a news consultant and was instrumental in developing their first website. At the time of his death he was employed with Rickey Stokes News as Chief of Operations for the past 6 years. John was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association rnSurvivors include his sister Fia Hatsav of New York, NY; a brother Leo Palumbo of Long Island, NY; nieces and nephews, Adam, Matan, Annabelle Hatsav, Callie and Keira Palumbo. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
