John David Peebles

John David Peebles, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at his residence. He was 75.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 2 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Father Peter Wong officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 pm on the day of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation.

John was born on November 11, 1941 in New York and lived his early years in Wilmington, Ohio. He joined the US Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Later, he was employed with Hughes Aircraft and then with civil service at Fort Rucker as an air traffic controller with the U.S. Army. Following his retirement in 1993, John was employed with Telegenix in sales of radar equipment. He loved golfing, Auburn football and San Francisco 49er’s. John was very patriotic and loved and served his country.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Peebles; children, Mark Peebles, Marcia (John) Murphy, Carla Bush and April (Scott) Barrick; grandchildren, Kayla (Nathaniel), John, Amanda, Alex, Ethan, Peyton, Katrina, Allie-Anne and Tatum; great-grandchildren, Evageline, Uriah and Declan; and several nieces and nephews.
