Johnny Edward Brackin, a resident of Ashford, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 in a local hospital. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Brackin was born on April 23, 1943 in Houston County and lived the early years of his life in Dothan. He joined the US Navy and proudly served for 20 years until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Brackin moved back to Dothan in 1986 and worked as a mechanic for Heads Service Center for several years. He enjoyed watching Western or action movies and eating Moon Pies and RC Cola. He loved going to yard sales to hunt for bargains.
Mr. Brackin was preceded in death by his parents, Novie Leon and Letha Adams Brackin, by his son, Paul Brackin, and by his grandson, Cody Brackin.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Ann Wingate Brackin; his sons, Ed Brackin, Chris (Stacy) Brackin, and Ben (Mallissa) Brackin; his daughter, Kimberly (Thomas) Ward; his grandchildren, Scott Brackin, Hollie Brackin, Colby Brackin, Hannah Ward, Owen Ward, and Sawyer Ward; his great grandchildren, Blair Davis and Skylar Ward; and several nieces and nephews.
