Joseph Lee Pecci

Joseph Lee Pecci, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019. He was 75. Private family services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, January 21, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Sanders officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America. Mr. Pecci was born on March 5, 1943, in Rhode Island and lived the early years of his life there. He was a 1965 graduate from Florida State University with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics. He married Sue Huffer Pecci in 1966. Mr. Pecci was a pilot in the United States Air Force, a Florida State building contractor, and a building official in Winter Park, Florida. He moved to Dothan in 2008 from Orlando, Florida and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Pecci was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Pecci was preceded in death by his mother and father, Joseph and Rachel Pecci and by his infant brother, Anthony Pecci. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sue Pecci; his daughters, Tracy (Keith) Pruitt and Stacy (Butch) Ferguson; his grandchildren, Joey and Madi Pruitt, Mary Beth Pruitt, Tyler and Anna Cruitt, and Tanner Cruitt; his great-grandchildren, Sadler Cruitt and Jacob Ferguson; his brother, Marshall Ames; several nieces and nephews.
